LayerOne

Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 May 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on LayerOne or using the service in any salon-management capacity, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use LayerOne.

2. The Service

LayerOne is a salon booking, calendar, client-management and assistant platform delivered as a web app and mobile app. Features evolve — material changes are announced in-app.

3. Accounts & Roles

Each salon has an Owner who is responsible for the account, including billing and the roles they assign to staff (Admin, Stylist). Owners agree to keep their account credentials secret and to ensure their team understands these terms.

4. AI features & data

LayerOne includes an AI assistant that helps with booking, recommendations, knowledge-base answers, and other in-app guidance. The assistant is provided as-is and may make mistakes — owners and staff remain responsible for decisions taken on the basis of AI suggestions.

Knowledge-base feedback loop. When the assistant cannot answer a how-to question, LayerOne records the text of that question (with emails and phone numbers stripped before storage) so that we can extend the knowledge base. We never collect details about your clients, appointments, staff, or revenue through this channel. Owners and admins can disable this at any time from Settings → Privacy & data, and view the questions logged for their own salon there.

We retain unanswered-question records for as long as necessary to maintain and improve the knowledge base, and aggregate anonymised data may be used for product analytics.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse LayerOne — no reverse-engineering, no scraping at scale, no use for unlawful purposes, and no attempt to access accounts or data you haven't been authorised to see.

6. Client Data & Privacy

Your client database (names, contact details, appointment history) belongs to your salon. LayerOne processes this data on your behalf as a processor under GDPR. We don't sell client data, don't share it with other salons, and don't train large language models on it.

7. Limitation of Liability

LayerOne is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Specific clauses to be filled in by counsel.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged in-app and the "Last updated" date below will be revised.
